Here are some of my favourite looks from the bright and breezy Fake London S/S 11 collection. I also assisted on this shoot and had a very pleasant day with Boo George and Karen Langley. Good Talents.
Whilst at home over the Christmas period, I was lucky enough to watch a brilliant movie named The Fall. This half fiction and half reality masterpiece was Directed by Tarsem Singh in 2006. Now I am not a film fanatic at all, so excuse the Film 2011 review I may sound like I am giving. I just know that when I see a film that is going to stay in my head for the rest of my life, I have to let you know.
The story itself is set in 1920s Los Angeles and is about a stunt man who is hospitalized by, well doing stunts, and comes across a young girl who he begins to invent a fictional story for to befriend her so that she will find him pills so he can try and kill himself. The story turns into such a fantastical journey of bandits who all seek revenge against one man. It is the perfect balance of fantasy/ fiction and morbid reality.
The amazing thing about this film was that it was filmed in 20 countries and has the most beautiful scenes and landscapes. The other amazing quality is the breath taking costumes which are striking against the scenery.
I will not give the end away and I won't pretend I write reviews for a living, but if you get the chance to see this film, do watch it and you will also be taken in by the outstanding cinematography and costumes. I have put a few of my favourites here, these are the ones I think about when I am on a sweaty bus and try to picture my life in such colour and romance.

The young girl Catinca Untaru who plays Alexandria in the film was unbelievable, she made it for me being so naive and adorable. You gotta love a kid with an accent! If you see it, or have seen it let me know what you think/ thought.
These folks are absolutely amazing. Pamela Reed and Matthew Rader are people who live in New York and enjoy things like "Pizza, Cats, Augmented Reality, Robots, Nintendo and Outer Space."

As well as beautiful photography they can just make things blink and move and dance and laugh and smile and kick and blow and sweep. I love the contrast of either gothy or circusy looking images. They also have some chic looking, bright images which would not be out of place on the pages of ID or Dazed and Confused.
I am rubbish with all things technological and how they do this amazes me. I can't even put an example of the animated cleverness on here, so here are a few still images, but you should definitely go to their website HERE for a proper gander.
One day I hope to work with such talent and come up with a shakey down town type of shoot that would make me laugh every time I looked at it.
I know I am 6 days late to say this, but I will not start the year as I mean to go on. I will post regularly at least twice a week (which is still pretty bad in some hardcore blogger's eyes)
It may mean that MUGGINS contains less impractical bread posts and more images that will show the visual flow of my year in process. Who knows, this might be how you get people to actually follow you too.
I hope everyone had great fun times over the Festive Holidays and Santa dumped good in everyone's sack.
Here is a new music video from a boyband called The Kixx (!) The band were dressed by the record company butI had the chance to spend the whole day talking to and dressing Emily Atak, who you may recognise from the popular teenage boy programme The Inbetweeners.
She was an absolutely lovely and genuine lady and she looks foxy in this video, if I do say so myself.
My good friend and hot blonde Stephen Lally did a great job directing, filming and editing this for BMP Entertainment. We also worked together on this Parody promo for the heads of Channel 4 based on the smash hit TV series "Glee". The promo was produced by the commercials company The Outfit and completed in time for the channels annual conference.
It was a long but funny day dressing all of the channel 4 staff as Glee characters, they really got into it, which made it easier for me but I think the beers definitely helped them get into the swing.
A couple of weeks ago everyone involved in the Fashion Film that I styled, got together and did an amazing job of producing the whole film. I still don't want to give too much away as we are planning to use the film and still images from the day as an exhibition and film show in the near future.
But I can show you a few sneaky photos from the rooftop which myself, Stephen Lally (Director) and good friend Claire Oakley worked on, cleaning, painting, nailing and burning to create a mystical, 80's New York style backdrop for one of the scenes in the film.
Here is another shoot from Dazed and Confused October Issue, which I should have put up with the other one but I'm just not fast enough! I assisted Karen Langley on this New York shoot with Photographer Collier Schorr.
I love Karen Langley's styling, she really does have a clear style which means you can always tell it was her that styled the shoot. I hope I am becoming as good a stylist where people will see something and know it is my work. Doing anything with Dazed is always a pleasure, especially when you see final results like this.

So there is a lad called Tom Newell who can draw. And some say he is quite good at it. I have mentioned him a couple of times on the blog as I also think he is a very talented artist/ illustrator. He also pays half of my rent, but that is not why I am being nice.
Now he has also set up an online Shop! Where you can browse through some of his work and even buy it if you like..? You can just click the link above or go via his own website tomjnewell.com. He has put the prints that were featured in this new book up for sale at quite reasonable prices to say there are limited prints and most signed by artists and musicians that he has worked for, with a couple of pieces from exhibitions he has done.
Or you could just go and photocopy them out of the book? But you should have a look anyway.

I have been in talks with Kat Marks, the wonderfully creative fashion designer, about styling her new S/ S '11 collection. I will not be posting or leaking any of her new work just yet, but I thought I should just let everyone know how talented this woman is.
Originally from Canada, Kat has moved over to London to study and complete her MA in Fashion Artefact with London College of Fashion.
Each of these carefully crafted pieces, as I see, play with body disfiguration, the shape and protection of the body. The solidity of the materials used for these collections create a shell and look almost harmful, whereas the shapes made and the silhouettes she forms create the femininity and sexuality of the wearer.
I have seen Kat's new work and I am really looking forward to working with her on this project and hopefully more in the future. You will just have to wait and see for further posts and the images from her new collection.
