Belated Work Posts

I have been very busy recently assisting full time, styling shoots of my own and also trying to get an Exhibition together for the end of the month.

I now have all of my work on my website here.. Which includes images from the lovely Kat Marks photo shoot that I styled to show her collection The Karass.

And also new images shot by Patrick Schuttler, the tanned Oz photographer who shot my last exhibition, The Chopped Off heads of Leviathan. These are stills from a short Fashion Film I have styled and myself, Patrick and the blondie Art Director Stephen Lally are in the middle of turning the film and using the beautiful stills into another exhibition where we will show the full Film in one room and the photographic images in another. There is hopes to submit this film to Diane Pernet's Fashion Film Festival too this year, but I'll let you know how that goes.

So anyway have a wander over to my other website to see the full stories and more of my other work. I have a few other projects in motion with some other talented photographers like Sean Carpenter and Karina Lax which I am very excited about and will share soon.

Assistance Please

Recently I have been assisting the Stylist, Jo Barker.

I've been on numerous shoots, flown to Munich, learnt a great deal about Italian Magazines and eaten about 3 times more Greggs than I should've.

Jo is a lovely woman and has a great eye for androgyny and tough styling. Here are two of my favourite shoots that Jo has styled..

It is good to work with someone who is genuinely nice and talented and who shares the same thoughts and opinions as I do. I see this working out quite nicely.

Well everyone is allowed some bad shots and angles every now and again, I should know this.

So I have decided from staring at her face for the last hour, that she is actually dramatically attractive like never before. A little Patti Smith and a little Pete Burns, but I like it.

Plus she is currently courting the Mr. Michael Pitt, who without a doubt is Hot!

The Karass: SHOWstudio

I have been long awaiting this SHOWstudio film by Nick Knight featuring the work of Kat Marks.

A great designer who I had the pleasure of working with when I styled a photo shoot of each of her "moulded resin chest plates". I previously talked about her wonders back in November in this blog here.

Kat has just graduated from London College of Fashion and is hitting the industry hard with her 'Karass' collection, which is made up of clean cut, hard edged, interchangeable pieces.

And keep your eyes and ears out for the name Kat Marks because as I said before, you will be seeing much more of her.

PRAADAAAA

Prada S/S 11 is really really good lookin' and this short film makes me want to jump and shout..

So where is the sun!?!

Looks like they had fun making it too, but who wouldn't enjoy prancing around in Prada's new stitches with Maria Carla!



What a bunch of all round mega babes.. Well Done Prada for making me excited about summer time and stripy/ straw creepers.

Fake London

Here are some of my favourite looks from the bright and breezy Fake London S/S 11 collection. I also assisted on this shoot and had a very pleasant day with Boo George and Karen Langley. Good Talents.

The Fall

Whilst at home over the Christmas period, I was lucky enough to watch a brilliant movie named The Fall. This half fiction and half reality masterpiece was Directed by Tarsem Singh in 2006. Now I am not a film fanatic at all, so excuse the Film 2011 review I may sound like I am giving. I just know that when I see a film that is going to stay in my head for the rest of my life, I have to let you know.

The story itself is set in 1920s Los Angeles and is about a stunt man who is hospitalized by, well doing stunts, and comes across a young girl who he begins to invent a fictional story for to befriend her so that she will find him pills so he can try and kill himself. The story turns into such a fantastical journey of bandits who all seek revenge against one man. It is the perfect balance of fantasy/ fiction and morbid reality.

The amazing thing about this film was that it was filmed in 20 countries and has the most beautiful scenes and landscapes. The other amazing quality is the breath taking costumes which are striking against the scenery.

I will not give the end away and I won't pretend I write reviews for a living, but if you get the chance to see this film, do watch it and you will also be taken in by the outstanding cinematography and costumes. I have put a few of my favourites here, these are the ones I think about when I am on a sweaty bus and try to picture my life in such colour and romance.

This is one of my favourite scenes from the film. Beauts!

The young girl Catinca Untaru who plays Alexandria in the film was unbelievable, she made it for me being so naive and adorable. You gotta love a kid with an accent! If you see it, or have seen it let me know what you think/ thought.

Reed & Rader

These folks are absolutely amazing. Pamela Reed and Matthew Rader are people who live in New York and enjoy things like "Pizza, Cats, Augmented Reality, Robots, Nintendo and Outer Space."

Please go to this website and look at the stuff they can do.

As well as beautiful photography they can just make things blink and move and dance and laugh and smile and kick and blow and sweep. I love the contrast of either gothy or circusy looking images. They also have some chic looking, bright images which would not be out of place on the pages of ID or Dazed and Confused.

I am rubbish with all things technological and how they do this amazes me. I can't even put an example of the animated cleverness on here, so here are a few still images, but you should definitely go to their website HERE for a proper gander.

One day I hope to work with such talent and come up with a shakey down town type of shoot that would make me laugh every time I looked at it.

New Year

Happy New Year People.

I know I am 6 days late to say this, but I will not start the year as I mean to go on. I will post regularly at least twice a week (which is still pretty bad in some hardcore blogger's eyes)

It may mean that MUGGINS contains less impractical bread posts and more images that will show the visual flow of my year in process. Who knows, this might be how you get people to actually follow you too.

I hope everyone had great fun times over the Festive Holidays and Santa dumped good in everyone's sack.
